As of May 17, 2011 we are on a break from accepting quilt orders until we can catch up on the current ones we have in production! Please contact us for more details!
T-Shirt quilts are such a unique and fun way to preserve old shirts you don't wear anymore, but just can't get rid of! These are great for sorority and fraternity shirts, school and team shirts, and even shirts from both the bride and groom put into one quilt as a wedding gift!
The quilts are made with different color schemes and can even be embroidered with a personal message for free! We use sashing on all quilts (that is the strip of fabric between all of the shirts). Most companies charge extra to use sashing but we always do it because it looks much better than just sewing the shirts to each other. We also use a sashing border around the outside of all of the shirts. Every shirt is cut, ironed to interfacing and sewn individually before the sashing is sewn on so it is a tedious process but it will make it all uniform and sturdy! The fabric we use for the back will be a very high quality fabric and you will have final say on that through pictures we send you of options in the color choice you prefer. Each shirt has interfacing ironed on the back before they are sewn to protect it from tearing or stretching and we use a cotton/polyester blend for the batting so it won't bunch up.
The quilt sizes are as follows:
Lap Quilt- 9 Shirts $160
Picnic Quilt- 12 Shirts $190
Stadium Quilt- 16 Shirts $240
Couch Quilt- 20 Shirts $290
Twin Quilt- 24 or 25 Shirts $350 (1 freebie)
Full Quilt- 30 Shirts $435
Queen Quilt- 36 or 40 Shirts $525
(It must be 36 or 40, not 37, 38 or 39..up to 4 freebies!)
King Quilt- 42 Shirts $609
Once we receive the online order for a quilt we will email you the address for you to ship the shirts to. We will then discuss fabric styles and colors with you and send you pictures of fabric choices for you to choose from until you find what you love! Again, you will be responsible for shipping the shirts unless we are in the same area and can meet. Please use the contact form for any questions on T-shirt Quilts!
It will be approx. 6-8 weeks from the time your shirts arrive until the finished quilt is shipped; rush orders may be available. Please contact us before ordering if you need it by a certain date, as they make take more or less time depending on the time of year.
Some of the quilts above are:
A 20 shirt Kappa Kappa Gamma quilt for a recent college grad
A 20 shirt Sorority quilt still in process, before binding
A 9 shirt quilt for a couple to be given as a wedding gift including her sorority shirts and also his fraternity shirts...this is a great idea!
A 9 shirt college quilt for a guy! The quilt was ordered by his wife as a gift and she had it embroidered and we used black fabric for the back with thin white stripes. This was the first quilt I made for a man, and she says he loved it! I think the embroidery looks great on the top and bottom sashing!
A 16 shirt quilt that was ordered for football Coach Skip Holtz and his family by a great friend of Mrs. Holtz. She wanted to give them a gift to keep at their beach house and she wanted it to incorporate shirts that would be meaningful to both he and his wife. We decided to use a nautical pattern for the back and went with tan and navy nautical colors as well. This came out as a great gift and they loved it!
A 24 square quilt ordered by Mrs. Holtz for a coach who works with her husband. He has been diagnosed with cancer and all of the coaches and families each gave a quote or bible verse to be embroidered on squares and turned into a quilt. This was by far the most meaningful quilt I have been a part of and I just hope it will mean as much to him! UPDATE, Mrs. Holtz sent me an email and let me know that this coach lost his battle with cancer. I was so sad to hear this and so honored that he was able to see that quilt and all of the love it represented from his closest friends and fellow coaches. Here is the amazing email she sent me; it really puts into perspective how important some of these "products" can be: Ashley,
Wanted
to share a bit of sad news but one with a message of thanks. Our dear
friend and fellow football coach, Rock Roggeman, lost his battle with
cancer last month. Thought you would like to know that at the viewing
the beautiful quilt you made for him was draped over his casket. That
quilt meant the world to him and gave him much comfort during his
battle. When I received your latest email I remembered how busy you
get this time of the year. I remembered how you dropped everything to
make that quilt for us last year. I hope that when things get
overwhelming you try to remember that your work sometimes means more to
people than you may ever think!! Thank you again for working so hard
to make that very special quilt.
Blessings,
Mrs. Holtz A 20 shirt quilt given to my best friend by me for Christmas! I surprised her with a quilt of all of her sorority shirts and used a great, Zebra soft fabric for the back and binding. A 12 shirt quilt given to the customer's boyfriend as a surprise gift! She "stole" all of his college shirts and sent them my way. I did a cool college quilt with Black binding and Camo fabric on the back! A 9 shirt quilt for a customer's husband. She only had a few of his old frat shirts and even some sweatpants, so she sent me all that she had and I made it all into a quilt! |
